Women’s Health, & Perinatal Mental Health
Physical health and psychological well-being are rarely separable, and this is particularly true across the hormonal and reproductive experiences that shape so many people's lives. Claire works with the psychological impacts of PCOS, endometriosis, PMDD, perimenopause, menopause, and related endocrine conditions, for anyone affected by these presentations regardless of how they identify. This work draws on her early clinical background in endocrinology teams at Fiona Stanley Hospital and Perth Children's Hospital.
The perinatal period, trying to conceive, pregnancy, birth, and the early years, can be one of the most significant and potentially vulnerable times in a person's life. It can also be one of the loneliest, particularly when the reality doesn't match what you expected, or what everyone around you seems to be experiencing. Claire works with individuals and couples navigating the full emotional range of this life stage, including anxiety, depression, pregnancy and birth complications, perinatal OCD, adjustment to new parenthood, early parenting challenging, identity and relationship issues, and the feelings that are hard to admit to.
She also works with people navigating the less straightforward paths to parenthood, including fertility treatment, donor conception, surrogacy, families of all configurations, co-parenting, solo parenting, where the emotional terrain is often complex and generic support falls short.
The experience of the non-birthing parent is often overlooked in conversations about perinatal mental health and the transition to parenthood, and yet the adjustment, the identity shift, the relational changes, and the emotional weight of this period are real and significant regardless of how you came to parenthood. Partners, co-parents, adoptive parents, and others who are not the birthing person are equally welcome here. You don't need to have carried a pregnancy to find this work relevant, and you don't need to be struggling visibly to deserve support.
