Chronic Health Conditions

Chronic & complex health conditions

Living with a chronic physical health condition carries a psychological burden that is frequently underestimated, and often invisible to the people around you. Claire works with people navigating the psychological impacts of diabetes, hypermobility spectrum disorders (hEDS), POTS, PMOS (previously known as PCOS), endometriosis, MCAS, ME/CFS, thyroid conditions, and other autoimmune and complex physical presentations, drawing on her background working in endocrinology and her experience at the intersection of physical and mental health.

She is familiar with the way these conditions often co-occur, with each other, and with eating disorders, neurodiversity, anxiety, and hormonal health concerns, and works across these intersections rather than in silos. The exhaustion of managing a complex body, and of having that complexity minimised or misunderstood, is something Claire takes seriously.

A growing part of this work involves people who notice that their symptoms shift with hormonal change, and that the standard account of their condition doesn't quite capture this. This includes people navigating pregnancy and postpartum, perimenopause and menopause, PMS and PMDD, and people whose experience sits at the intersection of hormonal sensitivity and neurodivergence.
